Alton-Godfrey Rotary Names November Student of the Month: Marquette Senior Grace Fischer

Grace Fischer is a dedicated, hardworking senior at Marquette Catholic High School who has demonstrated academic excellence, athletic commitment, and leadership throughout her high school career. She has earned High Honor Roll all four years while challenging herself through Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, and Honors Courses. Her academic accomplishments also include receiving the Daughters of the American Revolution Award for her service, leadership, and patriotism.

Fischer has been actively involved in athletics, competing on the varsity level in soccer, basketball, cross country, and tennis. In addition to athletics, she is a member of the National Honors Society and Breast Cancer Awareness Club. As a student ambassador, Fischer leads tours for eighth-grade students interested in coming to Marquette and helps with school events, including cleaning up after dances and participating in campus cleanup efforts.

Outside of school, Fischer has worked at Bluff City Grill in Alton, Illinois, as a host and food runner since she was sixteen years old. Through her work experience, she has developed valuable communication, teamwork, and time management skills while balancing her job with academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. Her independence, creativity, and dedication are reflected in her commitment to these many responsibilities.

After graduating from Marquette Catholic High School, Fischer plans to attend either Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville or Illinois College to pursue a career in nursing. Her goal is to become a pediatric nurse practitioner, allowing her to care for children and make a positive difference in their lives. Through her academic achievements, athletic involvement, leadership, and strong work ethic, Grace exemplifies the qualities of an excellent student and looks forward to a successful future.
