Coach Dan Wiedman was honored on Saturday, July 20th as the Marquette home softball field, formally known as Field 6 received it's new name--- The Coach Dan Wiedman Field.
Donors, Gerard Fischer of American Family Insurance, Rick Evans of Alton Sports Tap, and Marquette Catholic combined donations with Wiedman's family, friends, current & past players, and his fast pitch teammates to obtain the naming rights to the field.
Coach Wiedman is a member of the Illinois Coaches Association Hall of Fame and attained his 500th win as a coach for the Explorers on April 12, 2018. He just completed his 25th year at the reigns of the Marquette Catholic girls softball coach.
