The Marquette Catholic Explorers breezed through a Prairie State Conference championship this fall, winning all seven games by an average margin of 28 points.
The Explorers also had a large number of players being named to the all-conference team. A total of 15 Marquette players were named to the all-league team.
They were Brandon Buhs (honorable mention defensive lineman), Will Hurst (first-team linebacker), Xavier Jones (honorable mention linebacker), Jayce Maag (second-team defensive back), Liam Maher (first team punter, first-team kicker), James Malone (honorable mention defensive lineman), Brady McAfee (second-team defensive back), Konnor Morrissey (honorable mention offensive lineman), Tyler Menke (honorable mention defensive lineman), D’Avion Peebles (second-team running back), Sam Stemm (first-team defensive lineman), Jeremy Strebel (honorable mention defensive back), Treven Swingler (honorable mention runinng back), Alex Tesson (second-team defensive lineman) and Marshall Youngblood (first-team offensive lineman).
Marquette finished its season at 7-3 and competed in the Class 4A state playoffs.
Marissa Nosco was one of three Marquette Catholic players on the all-Prairie State Conference volleyball team.
Marquette had three players on the all-conference volleyball team -- Michelle Cameron, Marissa Nosco and Laura Hamilton. Cameron and Nosco were named first-team and Hamilton was named honorable mention.
