As Marquette nears its centennial, our record of academic excellence is owed to the generosity of past and current parents, community leaders and alumni who give generously to ensure the availability of Catholic education in our community.

We are proud of our strong legacy as a college prep institution which prepares our students to "not simply get into, but graduate" from college.

With eight years of continued enrollment growth, continuously expanding performing and fine arts programs, excellence on the athletic fields and most importantly - in the classroom, we owe our success to dedicated faculty, engaged parents, inspiring students and the continued support of many donors. 

Marquette is always in need of financial support because the annual gap between revenue from tuition and fees and the actual expenses of the school is more than $1,900 per student per year. Contributions help support academics, athletics, clubs, performing arts, service opportunities, equipment and capital needs. Donations do not cover routine expenses like utility bills or similar expenses. 
 
Marquette does not provide athletic scholarships. Marquette does provide merit-based scholarships for those who excel academically or in other non-athletic areas such as the performing or fine arts. 
 
The Marquette fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. Donations listed in the Annual Report reflect those received during the prior fiscal year.

The only property Marquette owns is the current campus on 4th Street in Alton. Marquette is not financially well off, but does maintain fiscal discipline within annual budgets and has very little debt. Marquette is always in need of financial support because the annual gap between what we charge in tuition and the actual expenses of the school is more than $1,900 per student. This gap is made up by annual donations from alumni, past and current parents and friends of Marquette. Larger gifts, including scholarships, endowments, memorials and bequests are necessary to fund capital projects so that Marquette may always maintain its high standards and offer students the best facilities possible. 
 
Yes. Marquette is a 501c3 non-profit. Consult your tax adviser about specific tax benefits. 
 
Prospective parents will fill out a financial aid request form. Aid is distributed until it runs out. 
 
Marquette keeps tuition costs as low as possible to make sure Marquette remains affordable to as many students who want to attend. Raising tuition beyond what the market will tolerate would result in students who want to attend not being able to do so and cause an enrollment reduction. Our mission is to educate all those students who want to attend.

Current families benefit by paying less than the actual cost of tuition because alumni, past parents, current parents and friends of Marquette help to offset the $1,900 gap. Most Marquette families support at least one annual fundraiser of their choosing and in line with their own budget.  
 
We encourage current families to support the Annual Appeal with a contribution of your choosing. The average contribution is just under $100. Most Marquette families support at least one annual fundraiser of their choosing and in line with their own budget. However, no one is required to donate at any time.
